PAT testing.

In Scotland, appliances a landlord provides need an in-service inspection and test alongside the EICR, at least every five years and often sooner. We test and label white goods, kettles, lamps and the rest, and the report goes with your certificate.

What’s covered

  • Every appliance the landlord supplies, from the fridge to the kettle
  • A pass or fail label on each item
  • A retest date for each, as the inspection sets it
  • Commercial PAT rounds for offices and shops

Straight answers.

Do tenants' own appliances need testing?

No. It's the landlord's appliances that are covered, not anything the tenant brings in.
